The Seven Deadly Sins and The Path of Inner Development (9 March 2013)

Dr Jeremy Naydler gave a very interesting and beautifully illustrated talk on the pre-Christian tradition concerning the seven deadly sins, originally an esoteric teaching associated with the inner discipline of cleansing the soul from the negative aspects of the seven planetary energies.  Reference was made to The Divine Pymander as illustrating this divesting of the soul. In the morning we considered the historical background to the doctrine. In the afternoon, the seven sins were considered in turn as providing specific inner focal points on the way towards greater self-knowledge and self-integration.
